One of my daughters attends Western Albemarle High School. Western is located in Albemarle County, Virginia, about 10 miles from Charlottesville. Last year, its football team had an outstanding season and the question is, how is it going to do this year. These mind boggling statistics include undiagnosed cases of TBI that are often looked at as just being concussions. And, recent studies have shown a link between football head injuries and TBI. A focus of these studies has been helmet safety and whether today's helmets help to prevent TBI or whether they contribute to TBI cases. These are complicated issues.
